It sounds like you are haggling at a yard sale over some insignificant object. The trouble is you don’t know what kind of kid you are going to get or how many will come per pregnancy. The most air tight deal between parents on this subject is overridden by divine discord, the destroyer of perfect planning.

The manifold truth is this: you will be unprepared, you will be imperfect, you will be challenged and you will love it — all of it. In the end, you wouldn’t trade your unique batch of chicks for the world. So as Spring unfolds this year, remember that even the birds are cared for, so your nest is safe in His hands and out of your control.
